Infinite boredom

I thought I'd do some explaining on this place, the yard and the house that I live in actually I'm just bored to death. I don't even have an excuse to escape since Carla and her boyfriend aren't back yet. Anyways.

The Republic of Ireland
Alrighty, Ireland is a small country in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. And no, it's not a part of the United Kingdom or Great Britain and yes, it is a part of the British Isles. Here it rains all the time, is windy every two seconds and is sunny 1h out of 45 resource not reliable. The place where I live is Waterside Stud, which is in Tara  I think, not really sure, they don't like road signs around here which is in County of Meath which is about 30km North from Dublin, which by the way is the capital city of Ireland.

Ireland is known for loads of cool things, mostly beer and leprechauns. And sheep. And depressing Irish songs, pubs and friendly drunk? people. And it's very green here.

Aaannd... Ya I don't really know much about the culture. Loads of kings apparently, because there are castles and ruins everywhere. People are pretty religious, and the whole country is Catholic kinda.

Waterside

So, the place where I live is Waterside Stud. It's quite an old yard, with craploads of fields. It takes like 30min to walk from the other end of the lands to the other, I think... Never tried.

Our house is the house of the former co-owner of the place. It looks like this

and is a nice house, though really cold and at times a bit creepy. My favourite hobby for the last few days has been finding new rooms in our house. Today I actually found bathroom no. 4! That's an accomplishment I say. In the house it's just me and my flat mate, and that's just perfect. I wouldn't mind living in a manor in Finland either...

Around the place it looks kinda like this

and at times like this
the jumping field

50 acres, perfect for hacking when there are no horses in the fields. Or cows.
like when you're riding you knoww...

I lost the idea I had about where I'd be going with the whole post now. That's not good.

Job/people

The person people? family? I have no idea who I officially work for here used to be an international rider, and now does judging etc I've heard? He's super cool and funny, and knows a whole lot about horses and everything. His wife booked me to work here, but she is at the moment in Finland yes, she is Finnish. Yes, that is why I work for her.

Beside me, there are 1-3 other people working daily for "our" horses. There's my flat mate Carla, one man from Czech and the owner's son. I help the Czech-dude cut grass, paint fences, stables and so on, ride horses, take care of the horses and basically do whatever's needed to be done. Carla takes care of the three horses that live "inside" not in the field 24/7 that is and the owner's son is responsible for checking the horses in the fields and occasionally mucking out.

PONIES YAAY!!!11

So there are 3 horses that we ride and groom daily. Then there are random people's mares with their foals. 4 mares, 4 foals. That makes 11. Then there are two racehorses with their foals as well. that's 15. Then there are 2 ponies and their grown-up babies, makes 19. Capo, Prince, one whose name I don't know and two more racehorses with a pony. Makes 25. And then there's Teaser, a tiny little stallion who lives alone far away from civilisation. Cos all the other horses and us people don't. 26 horses, out of which 23 are just chilling. Not too bad.

prince (without a capital P, he doesn't have a name yet)

Grand B, Woodland Chant, prince and princess

Teaser!

I'm not even sure if anyone knows the horses' names. At least I don't...

The horses we ride are Pony Rocatoa or something like that, but he's a pony so he's Pony. Annie and Mocara. Annie is kind of Carla's for the summer, or she rides her everyday. I take care of Mocara, and we share the pony.

Mocara is a super sweet old man. He's alright soft to ride, but reeaaally lazy. Except for today, after 3 days off and 15 minutes of fighting no this is right NO THIS IS RIGHT!! nooooo i dont wanna canter YES YOU DO nnoo but what about right? NO LEFT!!!! dsigjksdfldskflaskds He somehow ignited and was full of energy for the next 5,23 minutes. That was all for today apparently...

The pony is super cool, he likes to go fast and buck, but once you get him to listen to you, he's a gentleman. He's schooled well and knows a lot for a pony. And yep, still knows how to buck.

My laptops battery is dying or something, so there'll be more of all this at some point.

OH AND THE NEWS

I'm staying here until the end of July, not the beginning like it was planned at first. AND next summers summer job confirmed :)

soooo happy <3

with love, the crazy cat lady and her companion, Felix
